Christos Megalou Joins Brookstreet Council
Christos Megalou is a senior international banker who has worked with Barclays in Athens and London, Credit Suisse in London and has managed Eurobank Ergasias SA one of the four systemic banks in Greece.
Christos was Chief Executive Officer of Eurobank Ergasias SA, Chairman of the Executive Board of Eurobank Ergasias SA and Vice Chairman of Board of Eurolife the Insurance arm of Eurobank Ergasias SA (June 2013 to January 2015).
Prior to Eurobank he was Vice-Chairman of Southern Europe, Co-head of Investment Banking for Southern Europe, Managing Director of Credit Suisse in London having been with Credit Suisse in London for 17 years, (1996 to 2013).
He was a Director at BZW (Barclays de Zoete Wedd), prior to joining Credit Suisse in London, having joined Barclays Bank in Athens in 1989. He started his banking career in Agricultural Bank of Greece in 1986.
Christos was Deputy Chairman of the Hellenic Bank Association in Greece (2013-2015), Chairman of the Hellenic Bankers Association in the UK for two consecutive terms (2010 to 2013), Deputy Chairman of the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in Greece (1995- 1996).
He is associated with the parents leadership council of Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts (since 2014).
He is currently serving as a Distinguished Fellow at the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC).
He has extensive experience in Management, Banking and Finance , Investment Banking , Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets.
Christos was senior advisor to Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, Toronto Canada and is currently advising a number of international financial institutions and private equity firms.
Christos graduated with a BSc of Economics from the University of Athens in 1981 and holds an MBA in Finance from Aston University in Birmingham United Kingdom (1982).
