Nancy Papaioannou is a distinguished Greek-American banker with over four decades of leadership in banking, private finance, and strategic growth. A trailblazer in the financial sector, she made history as the first Greek female President of an American bank in New York, leading Atlantic Bank with distinction. She currently serves as the President & CEO of NAMA, following her tenure as a Senior Advisor at ALMA Bank.
Throughout her career, Nancy has played a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape, driving growth, and developing bespoke private banking solutions for high-net-worth individuals. She has been instrumental in expanding cross-border business operations between the U.S. and Greece, leveraging her expertise in financial management, risk assessment, and strategic investments. Her tenure at the National Bank of Greece and Atlantic Bank cemented her reputation as a visionary leader in the banking industry.
Beyond her executive career, Nancy has been a staunch advocate for female leadership and Hellenic-American business relations. She made a lasting impact as President & CEO of Atlantic Bank for a decade and as Chairwoman of the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce, two institutions of historical significance within the Greek-American community. Her commitment to fostering economic and professional opportunities has been recognized across industries.
Her dedication extends to philanthropy and community service, where she holds advisory roles in prestigious organizations, including the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce, Mount Sinai Hospital, the National Hellenic Society, and AHEPA. A champion of leadership and networking, she has also played an active role in the Hellenic Bankers Association and Leadership 100. She holds an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University and has completed executive leadership programs at NYU.
In 2023, AHEPA honored Nancy with the President’s Award for her Dedication and Commitment to the Community at its 85th Anniversary Dinner Gala in New York.
She joins Brookstreet Equity Partners LLP to spearhead the formation of our Female Advisory Board (FAB) initiative where she will play a dual leadership role—advancing Diversity & Inclusion and global high-net-worth capital programs.
